1950: From this year/time onwards, recording strips of the thermograph, hygrograph and barograph are available at the institute.
Notable events - a selection:
- On June 9, 1946, precipitation of 89.8 mm (hail and rain) was recorded in 24 hours.
- On June 13, 1946, the observation of a tornado is recorded under special events.
- From September 10 to 20, 1947, 11 consecutive "Tropentage" (days with 30 °C and more) were recorded. 20.9.1947 is the latest "Tropentag" recorded to date (as of August 2024).
- At 37.1 °C, the highest temperature of the 20th century was measured in Graz on July 5, 1950 (this value was only exceeded in 2013 at 38.1 °C).
