Monthly tables of meteorological observations
The sheets kept at the Institute describe measurements that were carried out on the campus of the University of Graz, albeit at slightly different locations due to various construction activities.
As part of a project, employees of the institute have cataloged the sheets, recorded usable metadata and had the sheets photographed at the Graz University Library. Metadata includes information about the instruments used (including calibrations or repairs carried out), the names of the observers and changes of location.
In this context, it was also interesting to find out when certain meteorological parameters were first recorded at our station. More details on this can be found on the subpages under the respective decades.
The images of the monthly tables shown on our website are available to the general public under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. If you are interested in further data or images from this archive, please contact messung.physik(at)uni-graz.at.
We hope you enjoy browsing through these interesting data sets, which are valuable for research in the field of atmospheric and climate physics.
The university's measurement data are fed into the observation network of GeoSphere Austria (formerly the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics - ZAMG). You can find an overview of current measured values as well as the general weather patterns of the individual years under "Climate" or "Weather".
